Straight answers
Is the screen version a replacement for the book?
No, and we would not want it to be. Roughly two in five days work on screen; the rest want a pencil, scissors, a walk outside or a conversation, and they are better that way. The Lab is for the afternoon when the printer is out of ink or you are on a train.
How much screen time is this?
One activity takes five to twelve minutes. There is no feed, no autoplay, nothing that tries to keep your child there, and the Lab never asks for another go — when an activity is finished it says so and stops.
Does my child need an account?
No. There is no password anywhere. You get an email link that opens the Lab on that device and keeps it open. Children are named by you, on your device, so two children can each have their own jar of stars — we never ask for their age or birthday.
How do I stop it?
On the grown-ups page there is a button that stops it. No email, no form, no call. You keep the rest of the month you have already paid for.
Are there ads in it?
None. Nothing in the Lab is for sale to your child, and nothing tracks them. Stars are kept so the next visit remembers where they got to, and that is the whole of it.
